Using a combination of talking and art making in a supportive environment, adults, children and families are able to express and understand and feelings and experiences. The use of art is particulary helpful in finding words when trying to articulate particulary painful or confusing experiences. This process serves as a coping skill that clients can take with them to use outside the therapy office. Artwork can also be made at home and brought into the session to share. A background in art is not necessary as the purpose of the art is is for therapuetic expression.
